Special Family Edition 1: The Muha Family vs. The Samuels Family

Caroline Rhea returns, along with trainers Bob and Jillian, to help the Muha and Samuel families lose weight, where one of the families will win $50,000. With the help of their trainers, both families will face their challenge, and the family with the highest percentage of weight loss will be declared the winners.

• Red team working with Jillian: Otto Muha, Erica Muha, and Shaun Muha
• Blue team working with Bob: Don Samuels, Melony Samuels, and Ravee Samuels
• The Muha family wins the ice cream challenge and wins a computer, digital camera, and printer.
• The Muha family wins the pop quiz and wins a $2,500 shopping spree.
• By winning the weigh-in at the ranch, the Samuels family wins a 5-day trip to a spa.
• The Muha family wins the final weigh-in and $50,000 cash.

Special Family Edition 2: The Sapienzas Family vs. The Sentis Family

Caroline Rhea again back with two families when Sapienzas family from Bronx, NY competes against a Sentis family from Peoria, IL. Both the families were restaurateur families, they've been constantly surrounded by food at work. And because of their weight problems, both families teenage daughters have been teased at school.

A bit of tension also arises between Bob and Jillian and the families they've been helping due to some unwise decisions and some disappointing results.

• Red team working with Jillian: Robert Sapienza, Daniela Sapienza, Toniann Sapienza, and Alexa Sapienza.
• Blue team working with Bob: Scott Sentis, Tammy Sentis, Emily Sentis, and Kelly Sentis.
• The weight-loss struggle between both families continue as they return home after spending time at the ranch with trainers Bob and Jillian.
• Their houses have both been equipped with a new refrigerator full of healthy foods.
• The Biggest Losers and the winners of the $50,000 grand prize are also revealed at the final weigh-in.
